Line.

88-4. Appleton Dock.
Wagons from W.A.G.R. were starting to
be seen in Victoria. Now you could have an Interstate train made up of wagons
from all the mainland states except Queensland.

88-5. Appleton Dock.

88-6. Appleton Dock.

88-7. 57RM & 60RM. Appleton Dock.

88-8. 60RM & 57RM. South Dynon.

88-9. l-r: T352, T413, E1107 & T???. South Dynon.
The former Fyansford Cement diesel
locomotive and now T413, had just undergone conversion
from 3’ 6” gauge when this picture was taken.
(For a picture of T413 when it was
Australian Portland Cement Ltd’s D1, see Roll
50-9)

88-10. T351. Bunbury Street
Tunnel.

88-11. 60RM & 57RM. Ravenhall.

88-12. Ravenhall siding. Ravenhall was
the old Commonwealth Department of Supply, Explosives Railway Siding that junctioned off the Ballarat Line at Deer Park. A prohibited
area, the train could not enter the yard proper, so I never knew what was at
the end of the siding. I suspect it was a P-van, 4-wheel Powder Van of the same
type as seen in the photograph at Roll 38-1.

88-13. 60RM & 57RM. Broadstore.

88-14. 57RM. Broadstore.

88-15. 60RM & 57RM. Broadstore.
This was as far as the train was permitted to go.

88-16. 60RM & 57RM. Somerton.

88-17. 60RM & 57RM. North Carlton.

88-18. Spencer Street.
The passenger carriage end seen here belonged
to a BC compartment coach that usually formed peak hour Werribee local trains.
They were the remnants of Melbourne’s steam
suburban trains that were not converted to electrification from around 1918.
They were
originally built between 1900-1907. For more detailed
